Drawing inspiration from Baptiste Power Yoga and Forrest Yoga, Mallory’s Vinyasa classes combine flowing with some longer holds for a mindful and strength-oriented practice. Awareness is brought to the breath, proper alignment, and muscle integration. Students are encouraged to modify the practice to best suit their needs.
Long holds close to the ground allow students to work deeply into the connective tissues of the body. Unlike Vinyasa, muscles are relaxed instead of engaged, and the weight of the body helps you to open up. Yin is a great choice for those seeking deep stretches, increased flexibility, a slower pace, and a more meditative practice.
